Patrick Henderson
CEO · FOUNDER · INVESTOR
Patrick Henderson is the founder and owner of LJJB Properties, LLC, a Roanoke-based real estate firm known for luxury, white-glove rental homes throughout the Roanoke Valley. Built on superior property standards and best-in-class customer service, LJJB Properties has become one of the region’s premier providers of high-end single-family rentals, serving families and professionals who expect more from where they live.
A Roanoke native and graduate of Virginia Military Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Patrick brings a disciplined, systems-driven mindset to every facet of his businesses. Since entering real estate in 2018, he has grown a $30 million portfolio spanning short- and long-term rentals, multifamily housing, and commercial properties. His approach blends data-driven analysis with a hospitality-first philosophy—ensuring every LJJB property is immaculately maintained and every resident receives responsive, personalized care.
Before founding LJJB Properties, Patrick co-founded Protos Security, one of the nation’s leading tech-enabled physical security providers. Under his leadership, Protos scaled from a startup into the fifth-largest security company in the United States, growing to more than 5,000 employees and $950 million in annual revenue before a strategic equity partnership in 2019. Patrick continues to serve as an active board member.
Patrick is also a founding partner of Missional Capital Group, a values-driven real estate investment platform. Since inception, the firm has successfully acquired three mid-size multifamily properties across Alabama and South Carolina, delivering consistent returns from day one for passive investors and building a portfolio of more than 190 units and growing.
Most recently, Patrick has expanded into retail real estate through a significant investment in 7 Brew Coffee, the high-energy drive-thru coffee brand sweeping the East Coast. He has invested in over 22 ground-up 7 Brew franchise locations in the Richmond, Virginia market – bringing fast, friendly, wildly customizable coffee experiences that align perfectly with today’s on-the-go consumer.
Patrick’s outlook on life and leadership was profoundly shaped in 2002 when he battled and overcame Burkitt’s Lymphoma, one of the most aggressive forms of cancer. That defining experience ignited an unwavering faith, relentless drive, and deep commitment to living with purpose – as a devoted husband, loving father, and accomplished entrepreneur.
Adam Sammons
BUSINESS MANAGER
Adam Sammons serves as the Business Manager for LJJB Properties, LLC, where he oversees daily operations, financial strategy, and long-term planning for a growing portfolio of luxury rental homes across the Roanoke Valley.
A Roanoke native with a degree in Economics and Business from Hampden-Sydney College, Adam brings over a decade of experience building scalable systems and solving complex operational challenges. His career has been shaped by a belief that strong processes and financial discipline aren’t just back-office functions—they are the foundation for great customer experiences and long-term value creation.
Prior to joining LJJB Properties, Adam held several leadership roles at Protos Security, the fifth-largest security provider in the U.S., most recently serving as Vice President of Financial Systems. There, he led the integration of multiple multimillion-dollar acquisitions, translating rapid growth into streamlined, repeatable financial and operational infrastructure. That experience sharpened his ability to bring order, clarity, and efficiency to fast-moving organizations.
At LJJB Properties, Adam applies that same systems-driven mindset with a hands-on, service-first approach. He is known for connecting high-level strategy with day-to-day execution – ensuring properties operate efficiently, issues are addressed proactively, and tenants experience consistency, professionalism, and care. Adam’s unique perspective lies in balancing analytical rigor with real-world responsiveness, helping LJJB Properties deliver an elevated living experience while building a durable, well-run portfolio for the long term.
Jon Spencer
PROPERTY OPERATIONS MANAGER
Jonathan Spencer serves as Property Operations Manager for LJJB Properties, bringing nearly 25 years of hands-on experience in residential construction, remodeling, and property improvement.
Originally from Martinsville, Virginia, Jonathan moved to Roanoke in 2010 after graduating from Liberty University, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He now lives in Vinton with his wife and four children. An artist from early age, he began working in the trades at just 18 years old, developing a deep appreciation for excellence, craftsmanship, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
In 2017, Jonathan founded ValleyPro Services, a residential remodeling company serving the Roanoke area. Under his leadership, ValleyPro grew into a Class A licensed contractor, providing high-quality remodeling services to more than a thousand homeowners with a focus on integrity, quality, clear communication, and helping clients truly enjoy their homes.
With a heart to help others, Jon has also had the privilege of serving in various pastoral ministry positions and the Army National Guard.
Now, shifting his focus to LJJB Properties, he still believes the “home” is more than a pile of building materials pieced together. It’s a “sacred place where people live, grow families, make memories and build a life together.”
At LJJB Properties, Jonathan oversees day-to-day property operations, renovations, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and to the highest standard. His extensive field experience helps to bridge the gap between vision and execution, supporting LJJB’s commitment to well-managed, high-quality properties.
